REPRESENTATION:
- Consider and deal with matters that affect our members;
- The correct representation for Legal Practicing Councils and stakeholders with matters that affect the attorney profession;
- Assisting with settlements such as disputes between members;
COMPLAINTS:
- The Tygerberg Attorney Association will assist members with complaints against institutions including the Magistrate’s Courts, High Court, Labour Court, Master’s Office, Deeds Office, South African Revenue Service and CIPC;
- The Complaints are usually directed to specific committee members who then table this at the Tygerberg Attorneys Association annual meeting. The committee deliberates and decides on the best strategy to address the complaint.
ENGAGE WITH STAKEHOLDERS:
- Stakeholders include the State Attorney, Courts, Master’s Office and Deeds Office as well as SARS and the CIPC;
- With the dissolution of the Cape Law Society, Tygerberg Attorney Association has a part in taking up the non-regulatory functions of the Cape Law Society.
SEMINARS AND FUNCTIONS:
- The Seminars which are organised by the Tygerberg Attorneys Association will continue to deal with practical topics affecting the members;
- Social functions held throughout the year gives the colleagues the essential opportunities to interact with each other outside of the working environment.
